Making a Referral

La Rabida chooses board-certified pediatricians and subspecialists who focus on medicine for medically complex children - those who have a special interest in children with special needs.

La Rabida partners with leading medical institutions to enhance its wealth of resources and expand its outreach to children with special needs and their families.

Hospital and clinical programs are staffed with physicians from the University of Chicago.  Collaboration with Children's Memorial Hospital adds five board-certified physicians to our medical staff and operates La Rabida’s hospitalist program and its 5-bed urgent treatment room.

Pre-Admissions Tour
Families are encouraged to tour our facility prior to their child’s admission.

Referrals
If appropriate, our Admissions Coordinator or a member of the Case Management staff will make a site visit at the referring hospital to review the patient’s chart and speak with hospital staff and the family.
