25th Anniversary Friends of La Rabida Gala Record Breaker
The 2011 Friends of La Rabida Awards Benefit raised an unprecedented amount -- more than $700,000 -- and drew an overflow crowd of nearly 600 supporters to the Four Seasons Hotel on Nov.18.
CBS 2 Chicago Co-Anchor Rob Johnson served as the evening’s master of ceremonies. Award recipients were James H. Wooten, Jr., senior vice president, general counsel and secretary, ITW, for Humanitarian Vision; Magellan Corp., a longtime supporter of La Rabida Children’s Hospital, for Corporate Involvement, and PNC Bank Grow up Great,for Community Partnership.
Live and silent auctions raised more than $100,000 and later, the Chicago South Shore Drill Team delighted supporters.
Attendees got a sneak peak of a vibrant video highlighting this "very special place on the lake."
