La Rabida Children's Hospital Draws New Friends and Sponsors

(CHICAGO – July 27, 2010) More than 250 guests came out last week for La Rabida Children’s Hospital’s 6th Annual Lawn Fete at La Rabida’s lakeside location. The evening was designed to help hospital leadership raise new friends for the pediatric specialty hospital while thanking loyal supporters.
Among the generous event sponsors were Harry Cendrowski of Cendrowski Corporate Advisors; La Rabida Trustee Howard Alper and wife, Frankie, of Alper Services, LLC; Berglund Construction; Chicago Messenger Service; and Robert P. Arthur of Magellan Corporation.
Other charitable givers were Robert L. Aguilar of Cabrera Capital Markets and Awakened Alternatives Enterprises.
Guests mixed and mingled at the lakeside event, enjoying a gourmet buffet prepared Chicago’s finest chefs, inspiring performances by the South Shore Drill Team & Performance Ensemble and musical trio SugarStrings. Guitarist Joey Edwin entertained with upbeat Latin rhythms.
Buffet
A gourmet buffet was prepared by Chicago’s own Chef Morrie Elstien; Mary Mastricola of la petite folie of Hyde Park; William Reynolds, provost, Washburne Culinary Institute’s Parrot Cage Restaurant; and Blue Plate Catering, Chicago. In addition, La Rabida featured its own chefs for the first time this year. Goose Island Brewery returned as the beverage sponsor.
